Biography

Dr. Matthew Wilburn King is an American author, practitioner, and academic researcher focused on conflict analysis and global environmental security. He is an expert Roster Member with the US Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution, Morris K. Udall Foundation and is focused on international issues associated with governance and peacebuilding.

Matthew is a political geographer who holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, England. His research interest is environmental security and the role of alternative environmental governance architectures in peacebuilding. His tenure with the US Government began with the US Department of Interior. He then served as the Senior Program Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean with the Office of International Activities for NOAA Research.
